JOHN A. BEATTY
Died, on Friday the 7th inst., at his residence on Main Street, John A. Beatty, aged 40 years, 11 months, and 11 days.
The
deceased was the youngest son of Francis Beatty, of Salem township
recently deceased. He removed to this place about 10 years ago, where
he has been steadily engaged in his legitimate business, that of
carpenter and joiner, and was ever known as an upright citizen, and an
unassuming Christian gentleman. He was in the prime of life,
having but passed meridian of his days, so to speak, and in appearance
had many years before him. But his disease, typhoid pneumonia, had
taken a severe hold upon him from the first and baffled the skill of
his physicians, until death put an end to suffering. He had long been a
member of the Presbyterian Church, and had recently been made a ruting
elder. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss.
